with Alison Grun who lives in Malaysia originally from France!
I dream of a world where all women could feel free to do what they want and be themselves in order to improve their quality of life, and I believe that motorcycling is one of the best vehicles for women to challenge gender stereotypes, foster sisterhood, and build their self-confidence to achieve whatever they set their mind to.
It’s the reason why I am driven to organise women-led motorcycle experiences in countries where visiting women get to discover the life of other women in their host country, contribute to their economic independence, and inspire each others to break barriers to freedom.
I’m organising a first trip to Nepal from 25th April to 8th May 2020, with the following key aspects:
~ 5 to 12 women riders max
~ 14 days- 10 days riding
~ visitors are accompanied by local women and men which have a deep understanding of their country/culture and will facilitate interactions with local women
~ riding level: this is going to be a challenge and it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been riding- it’s like learning again! But we are a compassionate group of women and we are here to enjoy our time so no pressure. It’s all about the journey.
Bikes: Royal Enfields Bullet 500cc
Budget: 2500 USD- including:
~ bikes rental for 10 days
~ airport transfers
~ cultural visits in Kathmandu by private vehicle
~ support vehicle for repairs and bags
~ support team
~ local woman guide
~ accommodation for 13 nights
~ conservation areas permits
~ all classes in communities
~ 4 meals
~ personal travel insurance
~ visa fee
~ meals which are not included in the program, and fuel: estimate 450 USD for 2 weeks
Lower Mustang is the best playground that offers something for everyone! No matter what your riding skills or fitness level are, we will make it happen.! We only need your willingness and a bit of bravery. We also want to ensure your security and well-being, this is the reason why we have a support team and vehicle with us, so if at any moment you don't feel up to the challenge, we will take over so that you can enjoy the journey. It is also the reason why we are making this trip longer than most tours. It's all about the journey
The trip is all about going off the beaten track and contributing to the rural communities, while experiencing the local way of life. So accommodation will really vary from one place to another, with a strong emphasis on home-stays. We will spend a few nights in hotels in both Katmandu and Pokhara, while we will stay in local tea houses and home stays in the mountains. Rooms might be very simple but with hot shower and Wi-Fi access in most of the places. Accommodation is on the basis of twin sharing.
In all places except for the included meals, you will be able to choose from a wide range of healthy local and international dishes, home made.
All our guides are local folks who are well trained, hold national and international licenses, with a passion and dedication in motorcycling and outdoor activities. This trip will be led by Alison, our French experienced motorcycle rider who has lived in Asia for the last 5 years, and at least 1 Nepali woman rider. to facilitate interactions with local communities. We will be supported by a team of young Nepali men who are engaged in the development in their country, training and empowering youth and girls into motorcycle tourism.
On this trip, you will also meet fellow women riders from all walks of life and cultures, who are seeking adventure, freedom and learning experiences.
